Community Midwives

You will be seen regularly throughout your pregnancy by the Midwife and/or Doctor and at hospital. Please always bring a urine sample in a clean bottle to your antenatal appointment. Your immediate postnatal care will be provided by the Midwife team, with your postnatal check being provided by a Doctor around 6 weeks after the birth. You will be provided with contact telephone numbers to enable you to contact a Midwife at any time if you have concerns or problems.

Community Nurses

A team of Community Nurses are attached to the Practice and are in daily contact with Doctors and other members of the Practice team. Patients who are confined to their homes and need nursing care may arrange with a Doctor for a Community Nurse to call. The hospital may arrange directly for a Community Nurse to call on patients discharged from hospital.

Health Visitors

Our Health Visitors are available to give advice and help on health care, particularly for expectant mothers, babies, children (including child health, breastfeeding, and post-natal depression), the elderly and disabled. You may be referred by your Doctor or you may contact them yourself.
